Appreciate you brother! One of my take-aways from the meditation retreat was also tapping into the 'unconstructed' joy that is available in each moment when I'm able to get out of the way so to speak 🙏❤️
I feel this so much! As a person diagnosed with major depression in adulthood, I've reflected upon my own childhood and I've seen the journey I took that caused my joy to fade. Now, as a middle-aged adult, when I see the commercials for depression medications that promise to help "get back to doing the things you enjoy", I can't even relate. It's been so long since I felt I could genuinely label something as joyful. I've most definitely chosen a life of work (and other responsibilities) first, play second. And I too have felt guilt for allowing myself to choose joy.
Appreciate you sharing Chris! Love that you have the insight to see how your journey took you to where you are — seeing all the contributors to my joy fading was the first step of my ayahuasca journey. Curious what you're wanting to do with your insights (if anything)?

Awesome – so stoked to hear more about that when we meet up!
Thanks for sharing this Edmond! What an amazing experience. Excited that you are publishing on substack!
